NHK is celebrating a prize at one of the world’s most prestigious international broadcast-industry events, the Prix Italia competition. NHK’s A World of Boisterous Silence has won SIGNIS Special Prize. This award honors television programme making a major contribution to the promotion of human values. The win was announced in Rome on September 27 (local time). The Prix Italia commented that the program allows us to enter the world of the deaf persons in a very powerful way, and that we can profoundly relate to how they proudly affirm their identity, which gives us strength and hope for the future.
