The ABU Technology organised the PMPC- 2015 in collaboration with the ITU, Department of Communications, Australian Government, Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS) and the Samoa Broadcasting Corporation.

The conference was officially opened by the Honourable Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi.  

The Programme Manager of PACMAS, Francis Herman, presented a case study on Disaster Recovery.  It was based on Vanuatu Cyclone Pam from a Pacific point of view.  

Koroi Hawkins, a Senior Journalist from Radio New Zealand, presented a journalistic experience having covered the event as a multimedia reporter.  

NHK presented how they report disasters to the public via media.  It was presented by the Head of International Cooperation, Mr Satoru Enokimaru.  

Email Moli from the Pacific Community made a special presentation outlining the services rendered by SPC marking its anniversary which opened a discussion on programme exchange and copyright issues.

Mr Masakazu Iwaki of NHK-Japan presented the plans for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and UHDTV-1 and UHDTV-2 including production and delivery plans of UHDTV in Japan

Since the PMPC is held in a Pacific country, the conference provides an affordable opportunity and familiar environment for broadcasters and media professionals to understand new concepts and mechanisms that can enhance their capacity in various aspects of broadcasting and media delivery.

Over one hundred delegates from 21 countries registered for the event.
