Golden Ribbon International Short Documentary Co-production

We are very pleased to announce the launch of Golden Ribbon Short Documentary Co-production Initiative, jointly initiated and supported by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and China International Television Corporation (CITVC).

The Golden Ribbon International Short Documentary Co-production Project aims to showcase the customs and culture of Asia, facilitate international creative communication and promote mutual understanding among countries along the Belt and Road through the filming and production of short documentaries.

Content and Format
The themes of the initiative for 2018 are “Homeland Flavor”, “Craftsman Asia-Pacific”, and “Urban Vibrant”. All participants will need to produce at least one short film (5-minutes long) on each theme. The films shall be produced generally as Cinema Vérité. The Initiative does not accept fiction, animation, video game, immense picture and video, advertising and branded film.

The Initiative offers fund for filmmaking. The fund for each film is no more than USD 3,000 and is variable according to the proposal, synopsis, budget and country/region.

The applicants shall provide reasons for requiring funding as part of their Application Form.

Invitation for Application
We would like to invite your organisation to send in application to the mailbox of (copied to before 31 March 2018.

Creative Workshop
We are organising the first creative workshop on 19-20 April in Beijing to determine filming plans, budgets, supporting funds and other matters. Therefore, we strongly advise all participants to submit the Application Form as soon as possible, and start the necessary preparations for the Chinese visa application beforehand.
