- Introduction to VFX in Premiere Pro – Essential VFX for the professional editor
- Rendering and creating audio, and video previews (scratch and systems)
- The effects control panel and the default values
- Using the effects interface
- Introducing Keyframes and how to use them
- Using effects in the timeline efficiently
10 May – Session 2
- Effecting Speed and Pan & Scan
- Introduction to speed variance in Premiere Pro
- How to effect speed in the effects control panel and the timeline
- The different speed blend options
- Pan & Scan a frame: differing aspect ratios and how to work with them
- For varying deliverables
17 May – Session 3
- Intro to chroma key and green screen
- The basics of lighting
- Intro to keying and ultrakey in Premiere Pro
- Best approach for problem green screen
- Colour correct and masking on the subject
- Refining the key
Course leader: Alexander Lopera
Alexander’s editing experience has ranged over many different forms of video production including broadcast news, drama, comedy, film, short film, television, feature documentary and online content with direct commissions from companies like Google and Channel 4 for original content. He occasionally teaches editing and post-production as part of his craft, and loves the process of learning and teaching at institutions such as The Metropolitan Film School, The London Film Academy, and Ravensbourne, and is a Fellow in Professional Academic Practice.
