Truth in Broadcasting in the 21^st Century for the Asia- Pacific Region

The ABU in partnership with the Screen Business Department of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) is pleased to invite your nominees to attend the inaugural Policy and Impact symposium – an in depth look at the impact of broadcasting policy in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Australian Film Television and Radio School Sydney will be hosting this symposium in AFTRS’ campus in Sydney from 20-22 June 2023. This ABU is pleased to conduct this symposium in conjunction with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and the Australian Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) and invited speakers and participants from public service media and screen agencies in Australia.

With the title, “Truth in Broadcasting in the 21^st Century for the Asia-Pacific Region”, this event will examine a key issue in today’s broadcasting landscape: the nature and difficulties truth in broadcasting, with focus on our region and the forces at play in the media landscape.

Professionals, practitioners, and international guest speakers will attend Policy and Impact 2023, bringing knowledge and skills in implementing people-centred sustainable change into the new digital world. The symposium will focus on issues such as broadcast access, cultural narrative, and skills training for new generations of storytellers.

Whether in policy governance, legal, presentation or production, technologies, management, education, human relations, this event will be of direct relevance to the future growth of broadcasting industries in the Asia Pacific.

Over three days, guest speakers will share experiences, discuss successes, and learn from challenges facing the broadcast industries across our region.
