We are pleased to inform you that the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is organising a Virtual Forum on Cybersecurity & Media from 24-25 May 2022.
Broadcasters and the media industry are gradually migrating to IP-based production and distribution technologies and are using the internet as a delivery platform for their services. These may broaden the threat surface for cyber attacks such as phishing, malware and ransomware, and there has been recent cyber attacks targeted at media organisations. This warrants for identifying and addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and finding ways to content protection and regulation so as to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or theft. So, broadcasters need to be aware of these threats and take the necessary precautions to safeguard their networks and valuable content, and work on counter measures & develop together cybersecurity best practices.
The ABU Technology Virtual Forum on ‘Cybersecurity and Media’ will discuss latest tools, technologies and best practices to mitigate those risks in the media industry. Also experts will share recommendations and experiences from case studies on cybersecurity threats to further strengthen and safeguard broadcasters’ networks from potential attacks. The online sessions will address strategies and frameworks put in place by Broadcasters and the media industry to enhance their security systems and protocols to be better prepared against potential attacks and threats.
