“Global to Local: Working together for stronger media”
This sixth edition in the current series of Media2020 Dialogues is an excellent opportunity to see in practice everything we have discovered over previous forums.
And while it is never wasted to look back at our achievements and challenges, Media2020 is a great chance to move forward together, sharing information and advice about our successes and the lessons we’ve learned when things have not gone quite as planned.
Over the last half-decade, attendees at Media2020 have become a family, helping and supporting each other. The forums have been distinguished by their high level of goodwill and a readiness to assist, whether it is a major network sharing its research and experimentation or a smaller broadcaster demonstrating innovation and agility.
That is the unique value of Media2020 – the chance for broadcasters and other media makers from Europe and from the Asia-Pacific to put ourselves in each other’s shoes and by doing so to both see issues from a new angle and also to share problems and solutions in an open, understanding and culturally generous way.
As well as the formal sessions during the day, Media2020 provides a great way for media leaders from East and West to meet, network and grow relationships. Several great partnerships have flowered from Media2020 in the past, so this year should be no different.
There can be few places on earth more suited to a forum on co-operation than Bali. The island itself has been on East-West trade routes for hundreds of years, it is a diverse society in the multicultural family that makes up the Republic of Indonesia and it is home to some of the most hospitable people on our planet.
Selamat datang ke Media2020!
