KRISTAL-ASTRO (KRISTAL-Astro Sdn Bhd) is Brunei’s only operator of multi-channel pay-TV service, and is a joint venture between KRISTAL Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the DST Group (Brunei) and MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems Sdn Bhd (Malaysia). KRISTAL-Astro provides digital Direct-To-Home (DTH) satellite television, providing over 100 channels of digital quality satellite television, radio programs and other interactive services which was launched on 24 January 2000. KRISTAL Astro currently penetrates 40% of Brunei Darussalam’s market.

Kristal astro’s operation is backed by DST, the leading mobile and telecommunications provider in Brunei Darussalam which also provides internet service, system integration, trunk radio as well as retail arm for mobility and computing through its subsidiaries. It also operates a radio station with the brand name KRISTAL FM which acts as advertising arm to promote DST product and services.

KRISTAL Astro launched the first High Definition (HD) broadcast in Brunei in June 2010 under the brand Astro B.yond. Following the launch of HD, Astro B.yond PVR (Personal Video Recorder) was introduced early 2011. There are currently More than 20 HD channels being offered to Brunei subscribers. KRISTAL astro provides compelling contents ranging from blockbuster movies, news, documentaries, entertainment as well as LIVE sport events which cater for all genres. KRISTAL Astro subscribers also have access to pay-per-view services, movie on demand service as well as a wide range of interactive services.
