Thailand to start digital radio trials in 2014

Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) says it will start trials of digital radio in 2014.

Col Natee Sukonrat, chairman of the NBTC’s broadcasting committee, said trials for digital radio will start early next year with collaboration from government agencies that own radio frequencies.

According to the Bangkok Post, NBTC will use unallocated frequencies in the VHF band for the digital trials.

Thailand ran a trial of the DAB+ platform in March this year.
