The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union has successfully facilitated the broadcast of the World Snooker Tour Wuhan Open event to viewers across Mongolia. The initiative began after discussions between the ABU Sports Director, Cai Yangjiang and MNB Sport counterpart, Uuganbayar Otgonbayar, sparked by a growing demand among Mongolian sports fans to access international snooker events. Both sides agreed on the need to make high-quality content available to viewers.

Responding swiftly, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union approached the global rights holder at the World Snooker Tour and initiated talks between the rights owner and Mongolian National Broadcaster. After several rounds of negotiations, the rights holder agreed to a special arrangement — providing the Wuhan Open event on a rights-free basis.

In addition to securing the rights, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union played a key role in supporting Mongolian National Broadcaster with the technical aspects of the broadcast. This included coordinating with the delivery service provider, overseeing the signal testing process, and assisting with technical troubleshooting to ensure a smooth and professional broadcast experience. This successful trial broadcast sets a strong precedent for future collaborations, and both ABU and MNB expressed optimism about expanding such partnerships to bring more global snooker content to Mongolian audiences.
