The Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation (VBTC) has officially welcomed its new Board of Directors following the signing of three-year contracts during a ceremony at the corporation’s headquarters.
The new five-member Board comprises John Tau, Hayden Saunders, Charlie Namaka, Johnety Jerrettie and Relvie Poilapa. The Board includes three newly appointed directors and two returning members, bringing together a blend of fresh perspectives and institutional experience to guide the national broadcaster. John Tau, who served as Chairman of the previous Board, has been reappointed to continue leading the corporation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Sowany Joseph, Chief Executive Officer of the Government’s Commercial Investment Unit (CIU), highlighted the important role of state-owned enterprises in contributing to national development. He encouraged the new Board to provide strong leadership, safeguard the corporation’s interests and ensure VBTC continues to operate independently in delivering public service broadcasting.
Responding on behalf of the Board, Chairman John Tau reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening VBTC as a successful state-owned enterprise, while continuing to build public confidence and supporting the broadcaster’s long-term growth and service to the people of Vanuatu.
