TVS, which operates under Sarawak Media Group (SMG), has earned two major recognitions at the VIMA Music Awards 2026, highlighting the broadcaster’s growing contribution to Malaysia’s creative and music industry.

TVS received a Silver Award for Best Chinese Song for “Echoes of Prosperity”, a festive production featuring Raquel Then and Morris Chai and composed by Galvin Patrick. The song, produced for the Chinese New Year celebrations, explored themes of prosperity, family, reunion and togetherness.

The broadcaster also secured a Top Five position in the Best Ethnic Song category for “Nostalgia Raya”, featuring Alia Tenor and Bob Yusuf. The song was produced for the Hari Raya season and celebrated the warmth of family, homecoming and shared traditions.

TVS Head of Creative Content Jamal Abdullah said the recognition reflected the broadcaster’s efforts to provide a platform for Borneo artists and showcase Sarawak’s multicultural identity. He added that TVS was expanding its original music productions beyond festive celebrations to include patriotic occasions such as Hari Malaysia and Hari Sarawak.

The achievements reinforce TVS’s role within Sarawak Media Group in promoting local creative talent and bringing Sarawakian stories, music and culture to wider audiences. SMG describes itself as a digital media group focused on television, content production and multilingual media services.
