TVB Hong Kong was the big winner at the 2026 Asiavision Awards. The annual award celebrated excellence, dedication, and innovation in news coverage across the region, honouring exceptional journalism, impactful stories, and outstanding broadcast organizations.

TVB Hong Kong achieved double honours, winning both Breaking News and News Story of the Year for its extensive coverage of the Tai Po fire at Wang Fuk Court.

In the other categories, CMG China took home the Frontier award for its coverage of the world’s first humanoid robot half-marathon. The Global Impact category recognised two vital stories— NHK Japan for its coverage of Palestinians returning home, and VTV Vietnam for reporting on Vietnamese doctors saving lives in Angola. TRT Türkiye earned the Universal Voice award for highlighting a disabled teacher in Gaza.

ABC Australia secured two honours, taking the Digital Vanguard award for its reporting on the hero bystander who disarmed the Bondi gunman, as well as a Green Horizon award for its feature on scientists placing hope in Palau’s super corals to save reefs. CNA Singapore was also recognized in the Green Horizon category for its report on heat-reflective public housing.

Warissara Sae-han of Thai PBS Thailand received the Rising Star award for preserving Khon and the Royal Legacy of the late Queen Mother. DD India won the National Reporting award for documenting how women in Assam transformed an invasive weed into a sustainable livelihood.

The ABU News Director Award was presented to Monica Enriquez Lachica of ABS-CBN Philippines.

In recognition of continuous dedication and contributions to news coverage excellence, the Asiavision Jury Award was presented to TVRI Indonesia, MTRK Uzbekistan, MTV Sri Lanka, KBS South Korea, and FBC Fiji.

The awards were judged by an independent panel of judges, while there were over 300 entries submitted for the awards.
