The Global News Forum concluded today after a series of productive sessions, featuring a closed group meeting alongside practical workshops dedicated to Media and Information Literacy and Digital Production Skills.

During the closed group meeting, members addressed key organisational and operational matters. A notable outcome was the announcement that a reduction in subscription rates will be implemented. Organisational restructuring was also a major topic of discussion, with a new proposal introduced to expand the news group committee to five members. Under this proposal, Asiavision would hold the positions of Chair and two Vice Chairs, while the wider Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) membership would be allocated two seats on the committee.

Looking ahead, plans were unveiled to roll out expanded in-country training programs starting next year to further support regional development. The meeting concluded with a presentation of the annual financial report, offering members a comprehensive overview of the organization’s current financial standing.
