Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), popularly known as Radio Pakistan, has become the first public sector corporation and state-owned enterprise in Pakistan to integrate with NADRA’s digital pensioner verification app.

The new system enables PBC’s 3,681 pensioners to complete their biometric verification remotely, eliminating the need for routine visits to banks or government offices.

The latest development builds on PBC’s earlier digitalisation efforts. In 2025, Radio Pakistan became the first public sector corporation in the country to digitise its pension management system, an initiative carried out under the supervision of Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

Led by PBC Director General Saeed Ahmed Sheikh and developed with the corporation’s in-house IT expertise, the initiative has focused on modernising pension administration and making essential processes simpler and more accessible for retired employees. PBC completed the synchronisation of its pension system with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) several months ago, allowing its pensioners to access the verification service as soon as the new app became operational.

The digital facility is expected to be particularly beneficial for elderly pensioners and those who may face difficulties travelling to complete verification procedures. Beyond improving convenience, the system will also help PBC maintain accurate pension records, reduce payment delays and strengthen safeguards against fraudulent or duplicate claims.

The initiative marks another step in Radio Pakistan’s wider digital transformation, demonstrating how technology can be used not only to modernise broadcasting operations, but also to improve internal services and support the people who have contributed to the organisation over the years.
