TRT Strengthens Media Cooperation Across Turkic States

15 Sep 2026

The Turkish Radio Television Corporation (TRT) is looking to strengthen its media cooperation across the Turkic States, following discussions between its representation in Azerbaijan and the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA).

TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan met with the newly appointed Head of TRT’s Representation in Azerbaijan, Sefa Burak Bozyel, on 8 September, with discussions highlighting the important role of media in strengthening regional ties and cooperation.

During the meeting, Hasan welcomed Bozyel to his new position and praised TRT’s contribution to developing relations among the Turkic States, particularly its efforts to advance cooperation within the media sector.

The two sides also discussed opportunities for closer collaboration, with Bozyel expressing TRT’s commitment to supporting greater coverage of TURKPA’s activities through TRT and other Turkish media organisations.

The meeting reflects the growing importance of media cooperation in strengthening connections across the Turkic world, providing greater opportunities to share information, perspectives and stories across borders.

As one of the region’s major public broadcasters, TRT continues to play an important role in connecting audiences and supporting greater media exchange and collaboration across the Turkic States.
