Bangladesh Television (BTV) is strengthening its programme evaluation process following the reconstitution of its 15-member Package Preview Committee.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the new committee, which will oversee the evaluation and screening of privately produced programmes before they are approved for broadcast on the national television network.
BTV Director General Kazi Jesin has been appointed President of the committee and will lead the evaluation process. The Director of Programmes and Planning at BTV will serve as Member Secretary, supporting the committee’s administration and coordination.
Operating under the Ministry’s TV-2 branch, the committee plays an important role in reviewing externally produced content and ensuring programmes meet the necessary requirements and standards before reaching audiences. The newly reconstituted committee brings together 15 members responsible for assessing privately initiated programme packages submitted for transmission on BTV.
The move represents an administrative step in strengthening BTV’s content review framework as the public broadcaster continues to manage a diverse range of internally and externally produced programming for audiences across Bangladesh.
