Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) welcomed Myanmar’s Union Minister for Information, U Htein Lin, to its Yangon facilities on 20 September, where he reviewed broadcast operations, technical infrastructure and services operated in cooperation with private broadcasters.

During the visit, the Minister inspected several areas of MRTV’s broadcasting operations, including its live broadcasting vehicles and the transmission of programmes through its playout system. He also reviewed systems used to monitor and control audio and video signals.

The inspection covered MRTV’s satellite and transmission infrastructure, including the operation of its nine-metre Earth Station, satellite communication systems and the control room of its 200-metre transmission tower.

The Minister also visited broadcasting partners and facilities operating alongside MRTV, including Myansat DTH Broadcasting and Distribution Office, Shwe FM and Mandalay FM. The inspections covered control room operations, broadcast equipment, studios, audio systems and other technical arrangements.

During the visit, U Htein Lin highlighted the importance of producing educational and knowledge-based programmes, as well as content that supports the livelihoods of rural communities. He also encouraged broadcasters to make effective use of digital media platforms as audience consumption habits continue to evolve.

The visit highlighted MRTV’s continuing focus on maintaining its broadcast infrastructure and technical operations while supporting the delivery of television, radio and digital services to audiences across Myanmar.
