RRI Strengthens Public Information Services with Digital Focus

29 Sep 2026

Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) is strengthening its public information services as part of a wider push towards greater transparency, accessibility and digital transformation.

The public broadcaster brought together its Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) for a coordination meeting in Jakarta on 23 September, focusing on improving public access to information and strengthening the monitoring and evaluation of its information services.

RRI emphasised that public information should be easy and quick to access, viewing transparency as an important part of the broadcaster’s accountability to the communities it serves. A key focus of the meeting was the transformation of RRI’s PPID from simply providing information upon request to offering a more proactive, digitally driven service. Plans include strengthening self-service options, improving information management and internal procedures, and building staff capabilities.

RRI is also developing ASRI (Asisten Respon Informasi RRI), an AI-powered chatbot designed to make it easier for the public to access information and interact with the broadcaster’s information services. The initiative builds on RRI’s track record in public information transparency. The broadcaster has maintained Indonesia’s “Informative” classification for the past five years and recorded a score of 97.35 in 2025.

Through the initiative, RRI aims to make transparency more than an administrative requirement, embedding it into its wider culture of public service and accountability.
