China Media Group (CMG) is strengthening its focus on science and technology storytelling through “Leaders In Future Tech+”, a major media initiative designed to showcase and support the next generation of innovators in China.
CMG joined the Ministry of Education and the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government in hosting the programme’s Youth Innovation Carnival in Nanjing, bringing together young innovators, academics, industry representatives and investors.
The event also marked the official launch of the second season of “Leaders In Future Tech+”, which combines media and innovation to provide young technology talent with a platform to present their ideas and connect with potential resources and investment.
Nearly 500 projects from ten cities were considered for the initiative, with 100 groups of young innovators selected to participate in Nanjing. Fifteen finalists ultimately presented their projects at the carnival, which also showcased emerging technologies including a non-invasive brain-computer interface developed by Nanjing University.
The initiative has also helped connect young technology companies with investors. Cooperation agreements covering 34 technology start-ups were signed during the event, with intended investment exceeding 485 million yuan.
Through “Leaders In Future Tech+”, CMG is using its broadcasting and digital reach to bring greater visibility to young innovators and emerging technologies. The programme is being streamed across CMG’s new-media platforms and will also be broadcast on CCTV-4.
