TVRI Strengthens Cultural Preservation Through New Broadcasting Partnership

21 Oct 2026

Indonesia’s public broadcaster, Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI), has entered into a strategic partnership with the Nusantara Arts and Culture Committee (KSBN) to strengthen the preservation and promotion of Indonesia’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.

The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 12 October 2026 at TVRI’s West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) regional station in Mataram. The agreement was signed by TVRI NTB Station Head Okta Helena Kati Jara and KSBN NTB Chairman Dr Hazmi Hamzar.

The partnership focuses on expanding cooperation in broadcasting, cultural promotion, documentation, education and the development of traditional arts, particularly those originating from West Nusa Tenggara.

Through TVRI’s regional and national broadcasting platforms, as well as its official social media channels, KSBN will have greater opportunities to showcase cultural performances, community initiatives and local artistic talent to wider audiences.

The collaboration will also support the production of cultural programmes and events through TVRI’s professional broadcasting and documentation capabilities. In return, TVRI will gain access to cultural resources, programme ideas and locally relevant content that can enrich its television offerings.

According to TVRI NTB Station Head Okta Helena Kati Jara, the partnership represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation between public broadcasters and cultural organisations while reinforcing TVRI’s position as a platform for preserving Indonesia’s cultural identity. By bringing together broadcasting expertise and cultural knowledge, the initiative aims to ensure that Indonesia’s artistic traditions receive greater visibility and remain accessible to future generations.

The agreement further highlights TVRI’s continuing commitment to public service broadcasting, using its platforms not only to inform and entertain but also to celebrate the cultural diversity of the communities it serves.
