The Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) Consortium has elected its main board members following the conclusion of the DRM General Assembly 2026 held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The two-day assembly, hosted in partnership with Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), marked the first time the consortium’s annual meeting was held in the Asia-Pacific region — reflecting the region’s growing role in the advancement of digital radio broadcasting.

During the assembly, DRM members re-elected Ruxandra Obreja as DRM Chair for another two-year term, alongside the appointment of Alexander Zink of Fraunhofer IIS and Matthew Phillips of CML Micro as Vice Chairs. Johannes von Weyssenhoff was also confirmed as Chair of the DRM Technical Committee.

The General Assembly brought together broadcasters, regulators, manufacturers, and industry representatives from multiple countries to discuss the continued rollout of DRM technologies, receiver development, digital radio implementation, and future broadcast infrastructure initiatives. Indonesia’s growing adoption of DRM technology was also highlighted during the event following the country’s decision to adopt DRM standards for AM and FM broadcasting.
