Australia’s most-watched children’s programme, Bluey, is putting accessibility at the heart of family viewing with the launch of Bluey’s Auslan Sign & Seek.

Coinciding with National Week of Deaf People 2026, the new ABC Kids initiative encourages children and families to learn Australian Sign Language (Auslan) together through the familiar world of Bluey. It also celebrates a major accessibility milestone, with every episode of Bluey set to become available in Auslan from 3 October.

Created in partnership with Leo Australia and in collaboration with ABC Creative, Ludo Studio and Deaf Connect, Sign & Seek is narrated by comedian Hamish Blake, the voice of Jack’s Dad in the series. The initiative will come to life during a special Bluey marathon weekend on ABC Kids on 3 and 4 October, featuring 24 Auslan-signed episodes. Families will be introduced to Auslan signs through special versions of the Bluey theme song before being encouraged to spot the signs and words as they appear throughout the episodes.

Beyond the fun, the initiative highlights how accessible storytelling can create shared experiences for Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing audiences alike, helping children learn about communication, inclusion and belonging through one of Australia’s best-loved programmes.
