ABC unveils 2027 programming slate across television, news and audio

27 Oct 2026

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has announced its 2027 content slate, introducing a wide range of new and returning Australian productions across television, streaming, news and audio. Unveiled at the ABC Media Showcase on 21 October, the line-up includes original dramas, documentaries, comedy, entertainment and children’s programming, alongside continued investment in news and current affairs.

Among the new productions are crime dramas Fortitude Valley and Rural Crime Unit, while popular series including Fisk, Hard Quiz and You Can’t Ask That will return. The broadcaster also announced new documentaries examining Australian history, society and contemporary issues.

ABC Managing Director Hugh Marks highlighted the organisation’s commitment to telling Australian stories and supporting local creative talent. The broadcaster will continue expanding its offerings across ABC TV, ABC NEWS, ABC iview and ABC listen.

The announcement reflects ABC’s strategy to strengthen Australian content production while reaching audiences through both traditional broadcasting and digital platforms.
