The 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 have officially opened with the Opening Ceremony, marking the start of two weeks of sporting action across Japan.

The ABU English commentary team is now in full operational mode, providing English-language commentary across 12 sports at 20 venues, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

A team of 24 experienced commentators and producers, with backgrounds spanning the Olympic Games, World Championships and previous Asian Games, is working alongside the ABU on-site team to deliver commentary services throughout the Games.

The ABU on-site team is overseeing technical setup, programme scheduling, commentary monitoring, logistics and daily shift adjustments, while coordinating closely with the Games organisers to ensure smooth operations.

The ABU Sports Department is also continuing to support members throughout the Games. The ABU’s expertise and strong network were instrumental in helping selected members from Southeast Asia secure last-minute broadcasting rights for the Asian Games, ensuring their audiences can follow the action from Aichi-Nagoya.
