Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV) has signed an agreement with China’s National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), strengthening cooperation between the two countries in broadcasting and media.

The agreement was signed in Beijing on 24 August 2026 during Jordanian King Abdullah II’s state visit to China, with the King and Chinese President Xi Jinping witnessing the signing ceremony. The agreement formed part of a wider series of cooperation agreements between Jordan and China covering areas including media, communications, culture, technology and tourism.

For JRTV, the agreement provides a framework for closer cooperation with China’s national broadcasting regulator, supporting greater exchange and collaboration between the two countries’ broadcasting sectors. It comes as Jordan and China continue to expand their strategic partnership and strengthen practical cooperation across a range of fields.

The signing also reflects the growing importance of international media partnerships in sharing expertise, developing broadcasting capabilities and encouraging greater cultural understanding. Alongside the JRTV-NRTA agreement, Jordanian and Chinese media organisations also signed a number of separate cooperation agreements, including arrangements involving China Media Group and the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The agreement marks another step in JRTV’s international engagement and in efforts to build stronger links between Jordanian and Chinese broadcasting institutions.
