Prasar Bharati Brings BRICS Summit to Global Audiences

15 Sep 2026

India’s public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati is extending the reach of the 18th BRICS Summit to international audiences through its partnership with the TV BRICS International Media Network. Prasar Bharati will provide live coverage from the Summit venue in New Delhi, enabling audiences around the world to follow the meeting of BRICS leaders through the TV BRICS digital platform.

Taking place from 12–13 September, the Summit brings together leaders from BRICS member and partner countries, alongside invited nations, for discussions on strengthening cooperation and addressing key international and regional priorities.

India’s 2026 BRICS Chairship is being held under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability,” reflecting a focus on greater collaboration across areas of shared importance.

The live coverage also highlights the growing cooperation between Prasar Bharati and TV BRICS. Prasar Bharati joined the international media network’s group of partners in 2025, with the two organisations agreeing to exchange content and support wider distribution of information and programming related to BRICS activities.

As India’s largest public service broadcaster, Prasar Bharati operates Doordarshan television, Akashvani radio, the WAVES OTT platform and the PB-SHABD news service, with its broadcasting infrastructure reaching approximately 98 per cent of India’s population.

Through the partnership, Prasar Bharati is helping extend coverage of one of the year’s major international gatherings beyond national borders, demonstrating the continuing role of public service media in connecting audiences with significant global events.
