RTM Partners with YTL for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Coverage

29 Sep 2026

Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) has entered into a strategic partnership with YTL Corporation Berhad to bring live coverage of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 to audiences across Malaysia.

Under the collaboration, YTL Corporation serves as the main broadcast sponsor, while RTM takes on the role of Official Broadcaster for the regional football tournament. The partnership will give Malaysian audiences access to selected matches through RTM’s television and digital platforms.

RTM will broadcast five matches during the tournament, including all three of Malaysia’s Group A fixtures. Fans will also be able to follow the third-place playoff and the tournament final through the national broadcaster.

The matches will be available across Sukan RTM, Sukan+ RTM and RTMKlik, allowing audiences to follow the action through both conventional television and digital streaming. According to RTM, the collaboration reflects its commitment to providing Malaysians with access to major sporting events while supporting the development of sports broadcasting and strengthening public engagement with regional competitions.

The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is being held from 24 September to 5 October and features teams from across Southeast Asia, together with invited teams from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Hong Kong. The tournament also provides an opportunity to bring football audiences from across the region together, with RTM’s multi-platform coverage extending access beyond traditional television and allowing viewers to follow matches across different devices.

For RTM, the partnership forms part of its wider role as Malaysia’s public-service broadcaster, using both broadcast and digital platforms to make significant national and regional sporting events accessible to a broad audience. Through its collaboration with YTL, RTM continues to strengthen its sports broadcasting offering while expanding the ways Malaysian audiences can experience major regional competitions.
