Over the past few days, The 1st Vietnam Ethnic Minority Women’s Football Tournament – VTV Cup 2026 has taken place in Vietnam. The tournament brought together 12 teams from ethnic minority communities across different regions of the country, creating a sporting platform that went beyond competition.
More than a football tournament, the event provided an opportunity for women from different ethnic communities to come together, compete and share their passion for the game. It also celebrated Vietnam’s rich cultural diversity, with participating teams bringing distinctive elements of their communities’ cultural identities to the tournament.
Through the event, VTV sought to highlight the power of sport not only to bring people together, but also to promote cultural exchange, strengthen community connections and create greater visibility for women’s participation in sport.
