Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) marked its 64th anniversary with a ceremony at its North Sulawesi station, bringing together leaders, employees and members of the TVRI Dharma Wanita association. Participants wore traditional regional attire, reflecting Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity.

Under the theme “One Screen, A Million Stories, Weaving Hope Amidst Digital Transformation”, TVRI reaffirmed its commitment to serving as an informative and educational public broadcaster and a platform that reflects Indonesia’s diverse communities.

Head of TVRI North Sulawesi Station, Stella AE Purukan, said rapid technological development and changing audience habits were transforming the broadcasting industry. Audiences are increasingly accessing information through digital platforms, social media and streaming services, presenting both challenges and opportunities for TVRI to innovate and adapt.

She said TVRI’s role extends beyond delivering information, with its national network serving as a bridge connecting stories and communities from Sabang to Merauke. Amid the digital transformation, the broadcaster remains committed to providing accurate, balanced and responsible information while maintaining its role as a trusted public space.

The anniversary celebrations also included the presentation of the Satyalancana Karya Satya award, a Government of Indonesia honour recognising civil servants for their loyalty, dedication, integrity, skills and discipline. The award was presented to Nurmeini, Head of the Planning and Financial Control Team, in recognition of her 30 years of service with TVRI.

As TVRI celebrates 64 years, the broadcaster continues to look towards the future while maintaining its enduring role in connecting Indonesia through the power of public media.
