The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography has extended the submission deadline for its interstate documentary film competition, “Flight of a Racehorse: Power and Grace,” until 30 August 2026.

Launched as part of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the competition aims to promote humanitarian cooperation, celebrate the cultural heritage of horse breeding and equestrian traditions, and encourage the production of high-quality documentary films across CIS member states.

The contest is open to state and private broadcasters, independent producers and creative teams, with entries accepted in the form of documentary films, documentary-feature productions and television essays produced from 2024 onwards. Winners will be recognised across several categories, including Best TV Film, Best Film on the History of Horse Breeding, Best Film on Equestrian Sports, and the Jury Prize, with the awards ceremony scheduled to take place in October 2026 at the Awaza National Tourist Zone.

The extension provides broadcasters and filmmakers with additional time to submit entries, reinforcing the Committee’s commitment to fostering regional collaboration and promoting documentary storytelling across the CIS.
