Indonesia’s public broadcaster, Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI), has appointed Tubagus Fiki Chikara Satari as its new President Director for the remainder of the 2023–2028 term following a competitive selection process.
The appointment was announced during an inauguration ceremony in Jakarta, where TVRI’s Supervisory Board described Satari as the best candidate to lead the broadcaster through its next phase of growth and transformation. The Board expressed confidence in his leadership, citing his experience, integrity, and vision to strengthen TVRI’s role as Indonesia’s national public broadcaster.
One of Satari’s immediate priorities will be overseeing TVRI’s nationwide coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, for which the broadcaster holds the official broadcasting rights. He reaffirmed TVRI’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive coverage across television and digital platforms so audiences throughout Indonesia can enjoy the tournament. Looking ahead, Satari also pledged to enhance TVRI’s nationwide reach, strengthen its digital services, and continue modernising the broadcaster to meet the evolving needs of audiences while reinforcing its public service mission.
