Prasar Bharati to Hold 100th DD Free Dish e-Auction for vacant MPEG-4 slots

13 Jul 2026

Prasar Bharati has announced that it will conduct the 100th online e-auction for vacant MPEG-4 slots on its DD Free Dish platform on 16 July 2026, marking a significant milestone for India’s free-to-air direct-to-home (DTH) service.

The auction will allocate available MPEG-4 channel slots for the remainder of the 2026–2027 cycle, providing broadcasters with an opportunity to expand their reach through one of India’s largest free-to-air television platforms. The initiative follows the successful completion of the 99th e-auction held earlier this year, which saw all available slots allocated.

DD Free Dish continues to play a vital role in extending television access to millions of households across India, offering broadcasters a cost-effective platform to reach audiences nationwide. The 100th e-auction underscores Prasar Bharati’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the platform and supporting the country’s broadcasting ecosystem.
