Centennial Radio 101 FM (CR 101) is a private radio station launched to coincide with the 28th birth anniversary of the Druk Gyalpo (King of Bhutan). It is dedicated to the monarchy, whose rule has brought about good things to the lives of the Bhutanese people.
In addition to the three existing radio stations that cater to the youth and rural areas, Centennial Radio offers content that’s a little more serious and targets the urban audience over 25 years old with programmes that are centred on news, current affairs, music and entertainment.
Centennial Radio’s second channel, Rigsar FM, was first made available in Thimphu before it expanded to cover the rest of the country. The station is located in Kawajangsa, Thimphu.
Currently, the radio station has 13 employees and five part-timers. It also has a news team and arrangements are being made with the two private newspaper agencies to share their news reports with Centennial Radio.
