EAP Networks, established on 26 March 1996, operates two private terrestrial television channels called ETV and Swarnavahini. These two channels are self-funded and its main source of revenue is commercial advertising.
ETV (Extra Terrestrial Vision) which was launched in 1993, targets the upper income English speaking segments of the Sri Lankan audience. It operates 18 hours per day, mainly re-broadcasting Channel News Asia and the broadcasts consists of 10% local and 90% foreign programming.
Swarnavahini TV launched in 1997, provides viewers with mainly local language programming, featuring daily news bulletins, some of the latest and popular movies, weekly musicals and daily dramas being the channel’s speciality. It has a strong advertising base and excellent programming. The channel averages an 18 hour daily broadcast with a content mix of 90% local and 10% foreign.
Two main transmitters are located in Colombo with 10 other regional transmitter stations in various parts of the country, to provide islandwide coverage to viewers. Our studios and OB van is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The organization has 390 employees.
