Kantipur Television Network Pvt. Ltd. (KTV) is Nepal’s premier television channel viewed by the Nepali community across the nation within its signal reach. For the Nepalese community living abroad, its signal is being carried by mobile, cable, DTH and IPTV service providers. An online web page is also available.
KTV connects to a wide range of viewers through its diverse programmes – 60% news, current affairs, and 40% entertainment ranging from music, dramas, comedies, fashion, cultural shows, sports etc. to live events. KTV offers credible up-to-the-minute hourly news bulletins, current affair programmes, talk shows and a variety of entertainment programmes.
Launched in July of 2003 and with a work force of nearly 250 personnel, KTV boasts of some of the most experienced and creative people related to television media. Using up to date professional equipment, production studios and three outdoor production vans most of the programmes transmitted are self produced while others are out sourced.
KTV currently has ten news bureaus, nineteen stringers with link facilities across the country making its production and news coverage the largest in the country. KTV today is also the leader in live coverage of sports and other events. A newly launched channel called Kantipur Gold is dedicated to sports and entertainment programmes only.
The Board of Directors comprises of Nepalese and non-resident Nepalese businessmen who make policies and major decisions.
