The National Broadcasting Services of Thailand or NBT is also known locally as the Government Public Relations Department or PRD. Under the supervision of the Prime Minister’s Office, its missions focus on recommending priority issues and communicating government’s policies, plans and development with both domestic and international communities. It also reflects the public needs and concerns of the government.
As a multimedia operator, NBT runs a variety of platforms. NBT television network offers news and information with a goal to heighten public understanding of national events and crucial issues. Besides its nationwide network in Bangkok, NBT also provides four other local digital TV channels to serve local viewers in all regions.
Radio Thailand or RTH transmits news and information to its audiences on its 145 frequencies aimed at segmented listeners. This includes its world service with eight foreign languages.
NBT World, an English language television and online service, keeps the international community updated on Thailand’s culture and development.

Because manpower is the most important asset for success, NBT therefore emphasises on human resource development to enhance the capacity of its 3,300 staff members in all areas of expertise. Its training institute provides services for both internal and external agencies.
