Rai — Radiotelevisione Italiana — is the Italian public service broadcaster controlled by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. It is the biggest television company in Italy and has a TV audience share above 42% in the country. RAI’s revenues are partly from broadcast licence fees and partly from advertising.
Rai operates digital terrestrial, satellite and IPTV platforms which offer 13 national TV channels, five radio channels and a wide array of web catch-up TV and radio options.
Rai is one of the 23 founding broadcasting organisations of the European Broadcasting Union and has a strong international presence, broadcasting several international channels. It is also actively involved in many international associations (EBU, Copeam, Urti, Circom, CMCA, ASBU) as well as projects of international cooperation.
