Radio Romania started its activity on November 1, 1928. Sincethen, it has been part of modern history of the Romanianpeople. In its 92 years of existence, the public radio station hascovered all the major events in Romania’s history. Its broadcastswent on uninterrupted even during WWll. King Mihai I messageto the Romanians, announcing that the country joined theAllies was aired by the public radio on August the 23rd 1944. Thevoices of the anti-communist revolution of December 1989 werealso heard all throughout the country thanks to Radio Romania’sbroadcast. Even now, governors, politicians, civil society chooseevery day the Public Radio to deliver their messages.
RRI currently broadcasts through four national channels: Radio Romania News, Radio Romania Culture, Radio Romania Music and the Village Antenna. We also broadcast abroad by Radio Romania International in Romanian language and 10 foreign languages. Talking about the regional level, Radio Romania holds nine regional studios. Starting by 2011, December 1st, Radio Romania broadcasts programs for the Romanian people from the Republic of Moldavia through Radio Chisinau. The on air offer is fulfilled by Radio Romania 3Net “Florian Pittis” the world’s first public station which started broadcasting exclusively online and the various websites of each channel.
