Tuvalu is a small archipelago in the Pacific Islands with a population of about 11,000 people. It has two national radio networks, comprised of AM Radio network covering all Tuvalu Islands and the FM radio covering the capital Funafuti. Through its two radio channels, TVBC delivers comprehensive programs and services which reflect the interests of the people of Tuvalu. There is no television on the island and all programmes are broadcast in English and Tuvaluan.
The public broadcaster is committed to delivering innovative, entertaining and trustworthy programs and services to the population. TVBC wants to strengthen their presence on different platforms. They are presently working on different projects such as the improvement of internet connectivity, the introduction of television and the revival of some publication projects.
In its Strategic Plan 2017-2019, TVBC reiterates its commitment to prioritising learning and development activities. They are presently empowering and training their staff to face the challenges and opportunities of the changing media environment.
