Mongolia
A nationwide TV station, TV5 Mongolia has been operating for eight years now. It was founded in 2002 and it launched its first broadcast on 1 January 2003. In 2004, TV5 became a full member of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and began its involvement in the organisation’s activities while receiving support as a member.
TV5 Mongolia provides a variety of news programmes which include domestic affairs, business, foreign and odd news, weather and horoscope. TV5 Mongolia launched the first online TV broadcast in Mongolia.
For the first time in Mongolian broadcasting history,TV5 Mongolia aired live telecasts of the Athens Summer Olympic Games in 2004 and Torino Winter Olympic Games in 2006.
The main objective of TV5 is to further develop Mongolia. It has several TV programmes, such as Let’s Develop Mongolia and Golden Generation of Production that give ideas on managing small and medium productions.
TV5 Mongolia has been selected three times by the United Federation of Journalists of Mongolia for the Best Television award in five years since its establishment
