CNN plans special coverage of 9/11 anniversary

CNN will mark the 10th anniversary of the 11 September attacks with live broadcasts from New York, Washington, D.C., Shanksville, Pennsylvania and Afghanistan.

CNN will provide global, multi-platform live coverage and simulcast on 11 September at 12.30 GMT to 17.00 GMT. The coverage will air across CNN International, CNN/US and CNN en Español.

Among its anchors and correspondents taking part will be Anderson Cooper, Candy Crowley, Becky Anderson, Sanjay Gupta, Soledad O’Brien, Wolf Blitzer, John King and Nic Robertson.

During the week leading up to the anniversary, CNN will screen four one-hour documentaries.

Footnotes of 9/11 features interviews with people who went to work on 11 September 2001 and unexpectedly became part of history.

Terror In The Dust examines how responders who breathed in the toxic dust and noxious fumes at New York City’s Ground Zero are coping with the health effects of the attacks.

Beyond Bravery: The Women Of 9/11 profiles the sometimes overlooked female rescue workers who raced to the Twin Towers in the wake of the attack.

Beyond 9/11: Portraits Of Resilience features untold stories drawn from 40 women and men who led and sacrificed for America in the hours, days, and months that followed the attacks.
