AsiaSat named best regional satellite operator

Hong Kong-based satellite operator AsiaSat has been named ‘Regional Satellite Operator of the Year’ at Euroconsult’s 8th Annual Awards for Excellence in Satellite Management.

The awards are the industry’s highest accolade, recognising companies for their outstanding achievements in the satellite industry.

The winners were chosen by a jury of industry experts from global satellite research and analyst firm Euroconsult, and satellite and space publications Satellite Finance and Space News.

Their assessments were based on key performance indicators such as revenue, profit, market penetration, innovation, strategic decisions and impact.

Pacôme Révillon, CEO of Euroconsult and president of the jury, said: “This award recognises AsiaSat’s strong performance in 2010. Following the launch of AsiaSat 5 in 2009, AsiaSat delivered significant growth, notably including the broadcast of new pay-TV services in several Asian countries”.
