Bangkok airport launches TV channel

Thursday 29 Sep 2011
The Airport of Thailand has unofficially launched its own channel produced by World Entertainment Network Ltd and will be broadcasting tourism and news programmes that will cater to air travellers at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Pattaya Mail reports.

World Entertainment Network Managing Director Ammarit Klomjitjaroen says Airport Vision (APV) is a TV programme that provides news and entertainment programmes to over 50 million passengers who come to Suvarnabhumi Airport every year.

He said that by promoting domestic tourism via Airport Vision, the tourism industry would further thrive and benefit the economy of the country.

Through the APV programmes, both domestic and international air travellers will learn more about tourist attractions in Thailand and the services provided for them in the airport itself.

The programmes will be broadcast via 310 TV screens that are located around the passenger areas across the airport. All of the programmes will also be linked and broadcast to other domestic airports in order to reach a larger group of tourists.
