ABU Workshops under IABM Training Award kick off today

Monday 18 Jul 2011

A series of workshops under the IABM Tom McGann Training Award 2011 will start today. It is organised by the ABU and the Institut Penyiaran dan Penerangan Tun Abdul Razak (IPPTAR), with support from International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM).

The workshops provide training to participants in three areas that are of importance to broadcasters. During the first two phases of the workshop, participants received background information by e-mail, followed by an online webinar and a question-and-answer session with experts.

The final phase comprises three workshops:

  • Workshop 1: File-based Content Production Systems and Media Asset Management (18-21 July)
  • Workshop 2: Online Learning Platform and Methods, and Creation of Training Materials (22-24 July)
  • Workshop 3: New Transmitter Technologies for Radio and TV broadcasting (27-30 July)

These workshops will also be available via an online webinar for those members who are not able to physically attend. These webinars enable participants not only follow the sessions as they will be able to pose questions in real time, either using their microphones or via the chat feature and have their questions answered by the experts.

The workshops will be conducted by experts in the selected fields.

The IABM is an international organisation representing broadcasting and media technology suppliers worldwide and is an ABU member.
