8th ABU Copyright Committee Meeting and Seminar on Copyright Issues

The annual meeting of the ABU Copyright Committee serves as a forum where ABU members debate and adopt the ABU’s position on copyright issues affecting the broadcast industry. This year, the meeting will tackle the latest developments on the proposed WIPO Broadcasters’ Treaty. What is the latest on the WIPO discussions on the treaty? What are the positions of governments? How will the ABU members benefit from the treaty? The delegates will also discuss the latest copyright developments in their respective countries/regions.

Lawyers, legal officers and executives from Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, and the USA have confirmed their participation in the seminar. Around 60 participants are expected to attend.

In conjunction with the meeting, a seminar on copyright issues will be held. Speakers and panelists will discuss the latest issues on copyright affecting the broadcast industry.

The event is an opportunity for lawyers, legal officers, and executives to learn, dialogue, network, and share information on copyright issues.
