Malaysia’s RTM, TV Al-Hijrah to collaborate

Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) will collaborate with TV Al-Hijrah to attract a larger audience from among the younger generation, Information, Communications and Culture Minister Rais Yatim said, Bernama reports.

TV Al-Hijrah is an Islamic channel owned by the Malaysian government that began broadcasting in December 2010.

“We will look for the best method to cater to the younger generation and synergise our energy to get programmes, increase the variety and also extend broadcast time,” he said after visiting the TV Al-Hijrah station in Kuala Lumpur.

“The government will also assist with equipment to enable comprehensive coverage,” he added.

Dr Rais did not rule out the possibility of a temporary staff exchange to allow for transfer of expertise between the two stations.
