NHK releases radio app for iPhone

NHK has just released an iPhone radio app, “Rajiru”, which can be used for listening to NHK radio programmes in Japan.

According to its description, the app enables users to check weekly broadcast schedules for Radio 1 (news and talkshows), Radio 2 (educational programmes) and FM Radio (music programmes), as well as details on announcers and guests.

NHK Net Radio offers live streaming radio and is aimed at reaching those who have difficulty receiving radio signals in areas of poor reception. The streaming will continue on a trial basis until the end of 2013.

Rajiru is also available online via web browser (restricted to users in Japan).
