ABU annual meetings open in New Delhi

The ABU’s annual meetings open today in New Delhi, hosted by India’s national broadcasting corporation, Prasar Bharati.

Over the next seven days, more than 450 people will take part in the General Assembly and a range of meetings covering technical, programme, sports and other areas.

Today sees the opening of the Sports Group meeting and half-day meetings of the Planning & Strategy Group and the Technical Bureau, which oversees the ABU’s technical activities.

The Programme Committee and Technical Committee begin their meetings tomorrow.

The General Assembly itself takes place on 7-8 November. Highlights will include special sessions on ‘Media Development and Media for Development’ and on how broadcasters are gearing up for new radio and television services.
