Veteran broadcasters win ABU technical awards

Senior broadcast engineers from India and China have won ABU Excellence Awards.

Ashok Kumar Bhatnagar of Doordarshan, India, and Wang Jianqiang of Shanghai Media Group, China (nominated by RTPRC-China), won the ABU Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award and the ABU Engineering Industry Excellence Award respectively.

The results were announced on the first day of Technical Committee meetings in New Delhi today.

The Best Article Prize of the ABU Technical Review went to Byungsun Kim, Sangjin Hahm, Injun Cho, Jinmo Kang, Keunsik Lee, Changseob Park and Junyong Lee of KBS-Korea.

The Technical Review Prizes for two Commended Articles went to Kiyohiko Ishikawa and Yoichi Tokoro of NHK-Japan, and Tawapak Tiyabhorn of Thai PBS.

The meeting also heard the annual report from the Director ABU Technology, Sharad Sadhu, and discussed the activities carried out in the past year.
